History

ThyssenKrupp Accessibility BV is an Dutch-based company with a long history in the field of stairlifts and platform lifts. In July 2003 we celebrated our 50th anniversary.

Below you'll find an overview of our history:

• 1953 - Foundation of De Reus
• 1957 - First stairlift in production
• 1988 - Merger with Thyssen Liften BV (new company name Thyssen De Reus BV)
• 1993 - Relocation form the IJsseldijk in Krimpen aan den IJssel, to the industrial area Stormpolder in Krimpen aan den IJssel
• 1996 - Foundation of Thyssen Stairlift Group
• 1997 - Thyssen De Reus BV is split into in 3 Business Units (Lifts & Escalators, Stairlifts & Platform lifts, and Service)
• 1999 - Acquisition of Access (now largest stairlift supplier in the world)
• 2001 - Dividing Thyssen De Reus BV into two separate companies
• 2001 - Foundation of ThyssenKrupp Accessibility BV
• 2003 - 50th Anniversary
